Employer rates
You pay a share of the job's yearly pay when a real person invites you to an interview: 0.1% at most employers, a little more where places are the hardest to win and graduate pay is highest. At those employers an online test is 0.01% too, because a test there means your CV passed their screen.
| Employer | Interview | Online test |
|---|---|---|
| Most competitive employers | 0.2% | 0.01% |
| Highly competitive employers | 0.15% | 0.01% |
| Standard: every other employer | 0.1% | Free |
Fees are a % of the job's yearly pay, once per job. An online test fee is added to your next monthly bill, never charged on its own, and you get the test straight away. Recorded video interviews and assessments are free everywhere. The rate is the one listed here when the invitation arrives. Ask Hackly in the chat for the rate at any employer before it applies.

Where the lists come from
- Technology and AI: levels.fyi annual pay report, entry-level pay by company
- Quant trading and hedge funds: levels.fyi new-grad pay for trading firms, and acceptance rates reported by the firms (no official ranking exists)
- Banking, private equity and investing: Vault Banking 25 (prestige weighted 40%), and published analyst pay
- Consulting and economics: Vault Consulting 50 (prestige)
- Law: published trainee and newly qualified pay, and training-contract places per applicant (Chambers Student, Legal Cheek)
- Commodities and energy trading: graduate pay and intake sizes published by the firms and reported by the trade press
- Sales and go-to-market: RepVue sales org ratings (pay, quota attainment, product fit)
An employer is listed by two things that can be measured: how hard a place is to win (applicants per place) and how high graduate pay is, from the public benchmarks above. Most competitive means both; highly competitive means clearly one of the two. It says how competitive a place is, not how good the employer is. Employers that hire many graduates stay Standard, however well known.
